Upminster mens 3s managed to blow off the cobwebs with a thrilling encounter away to Old Sounthendians 2s.
Upminster were slow to start finding themselves 2 down after 20 minutes after some all round rusty hockey. However Upminster picked up their game with goals from Phil Hudson and Will Murphy to equal the score at half time.
Upminster continued to improve throughout the 2nd half taking the lead after just 5 mins with a goal from Steve Woods who expertly slotted home at the far post.
Old Southendians remained a threat on the break pulling a goal back to make it 3:3 with 10 mins to go.
Upminster, feeling a win was well deserved, continued to press with MoM Will Murphy finishing a solo run with a match winning goal.
