Sunday 17th March – Junior Training

We have some exciting news to share with you all. On Sunday 17th March there is a special visitor coming to Coopers to deliver our colts training sessions.

He will be working with our u8/10’s 9.30am-10.30am, u12’s 10.30am-11.30am and u14/16’s 11.30am-12.30am respectively delivering bespoke sessions for one and all.

His name is Rhys Smith (England/GB player) and some of you would have met him at the Hockey festival day back in September. For those of you who haven’t met him here is  a brief background:

Rhys Smith is an English international field hockey player who plays in midfield for England and Great Britain. He plays club hockey in the Men’s England Hockey League Premier Division for East Grinstead. HIs skill level is amazing and he is always coming up with innovative and fun ways to work with the younger hockey players.

Here’s a link to some of his many skills: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOUE4WxzTPk

We are so thrilled and excited that he is making time for Upminster Hockey Club in his busy England / GB  training schedule and would love as many of our colts to attend their sessions as possible. We want to show him what an amazing club we truly are and how many talented young players we have.

We are also super lucky that the club are going to be financing the sessions, so literally all you have to do is to turn up for your son/daughters usual training times on a Sunday and most of all make the most of this fabulous opportunity.

Along with Rhys will be the usual training crew with maybe some of our very own UHC 1st team superstars. Our ladies 1st XI recently being promoted to the premier league and our ladies 4th XI to Essex division 2. Our mens 1st XI are also currently in the hunt for a promotion to the mens premier B division in a tightly run battle.

We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday 17th March 2019.
