Upminster [M2s] 15 v 0 Waltham Forest [M2s]

Upminster took full advantage of a below par Waltham forest team at the Olympic Park on Saturday, to record a record win for their second string. The match started evenly enough with the home side soaking up the early pressure, Hodges going close from the top of the D in the early exchanges. The sustained pressure on the home goal eventually told and they conceded from a short corner, Payne finishing nicely. From here Upminster began to dominate with the home side unable to break out of their own half and Upminster netting a further 3 goals, two for Alexandrou and a further goal from Payne.

After the break, it became the Phil Hudson show, after jetting back from a skiing trip to arrive just before the game he dominated the second half scoring a hat trick within 15 minutes, for most people this would have been enough but it seemed that everything he hit went goal bound and he completed his second hat trick before the game was done, Upminster scored 11 in the second half with the remainder of the goals being shared between the team. Waltham Forest to their credit continued to battle despite losing two players to injury and will probably feel a little frustrated that they caught Upminster and especially Hudson, on a good day.

Upminster host local Rivals Brentwood at Coopers on Saturday looking to take revenge for a defeat earlier in the season.
