A youthful Upminster 5s suffered a heaving defeat against a strong Wapping team at the Lee Valley Tennis and Hockey Centre. The deadlock was broken after relentless pressure from the Wapping forwards forced a mistake which they capitalised on. The lead was doubled before half time from a short corner. In the second half, in spite of some excellent midfield play from Ellis Pickering and Will Doyle, Wapping went on to score three more goals before the final whistle, to take the three points. In spite of the result significant capability was shown by many of Upminster’s young players, with a successive Defender of the Match being awarded to thirteen year old, Teerath Sanghera.
