Firstly, we’re delighted to have received a nomination from our local MP, Julia Lopez, for the Sport and Recreation Alliance’s 2026 – Community Club of the Year Award. This is fantastic recognition of the impact our club is having, with the number of teams continuing to grow year on year.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped get us all back into action this weekend. It takes a monumental effort from our volunteers every single week to keep the club running, and their contribution is highly appreciated.
Now, imagine if every Upminster member did just one extra thing for the club this season.
-
Umpiring a game — particularly important with the addition of our new men’s team.
-
Helping at a junior coaching session.
-
Volunteering at a club event.
-
Welcoming a new member.
-
Introducing someone to hockey.
-
Taking a leadership, coaching or umpiring course.
-
Supporting one of our teams.
-
Or simply coming along to support more games than you did last season.
Every small contribution makes a difference, and together we can make an even bigger impact.
If you’d like to get involved, speak to a committee member or your team captain, who will be more than happy to point you in the right direction.
Also if you haven’t seen the Teamo Guidance here’s the link. Keeping your availability up to date helps our captains and coaches plan teams, fixtures and training sessions effectively throughout the season.
Hopefully see you this Saturday for our first social event of the season!
