Brentwood [M2s] 4 v 2 Upminster [M2s]

Upminster came away from Brentwood with a disappointing result on Saturday in a game in which the away side will believe the scoreline does not tell the whole story.
Brentwood used their pace well on the counter attack, benefiting from some lapses in the away team’s concentration. This, and a combination of missing a hat full of chances themselves, saw the away side trailing 3-0 before Mike Scrivener tapped in at the far post on the half time whistle.
The away side started the second half brightly, and did everything but score. Brentwood sealed the game as they again hit Upminster on the counter as they searched for a second goal to bring them back into the game. The away side got a consolation with virtually the last touch of the game as Luke Alexandrou finished off a move after Upminster turned over the ball deep in the Brentwood half.
Upminster host Maldon on Saturday, hoping to get their topsy turvy season back on track, knowing they’ll have to improve their concentration and composure if they want to improve their fortunes.
