Bury St Edmunds 1’s 1 v 1 Upminster 1’s

All square in an even game against Bury St Edmunds.
Upminster went to Bury without a number of first team regulars, this meant a first XI debut for last year’s club top scorer Chris Eggleton – he duly grabbed Upminster’s only goal in the game, a trademark back post tap-in.
The game was even throughout with chances at a premium, it was Upminster had the first big chance to open but Ollie Cipa was denied by a fine save from the Bury goalkeeper. Bury broke the deadlock via a short corner on the stroke of half-time.
Upminster knew that if they continued to play as they had done in the first half a positive result was on the cards. It was a great team move that got them their equaliser with Callum Berry breaking and playing a through ball to Ollie Cipa who then squared to Chris Eggleton to do the honours.
In the last 15 both teams had chances to win it but a draw was probably a fair reflection of the game.
