Dear Club Members,
This June, England Hockey are offering numerous opportunities to complete the Umpire Level 1 (Online) Course.
The Club relies on a pool of volunteer umpires during the Season, quite often needing to find up to 22 (sometimes more!) different volunteers every week.
To say thank you to our volunteer umpires, Upminster HC waives a match fee for every umpired game. This can be transferred to another player (if the umpire isn’t a player themselves).
As we begin looking into the Season ahead and with the recent release of courses we hope that members will come forward and help to strengthen our collective of volunteers and share the responsibility of fixtures among more members.
The Umpire Level 1 (Online) Course is a 2 hour course designed for people who will be umpiring the 11 a-side game and is fully delivered online. Candidates will be required to complete a short online rules test ahead of the course starting.
Once completed, candidates will receive their Level 1 Unassessed Umpires Certificate.
The Club offers mentoring opportunities throughout the season and will also support candidates in working towards their assessment should they wish where they will then be able to umpire higher level teams.

How to get reimbursed:
The Club values all our umpire volunteers and will reimburse course fees. Please fill in the confirmation of umpire course registration form to let us know you have booked and how you would like to be reimbursed.
