Essex Hockey have asked for the club to share the information below. There will be 2 separate Hockey training sessions at various locations where players will be assessed and IF successful they will be nominated to attend an Academy Centre by their Development Centre Coaches. If you have any questions then please email webmaster@upminsterhc.co.uk who will try and answer any questions you may have.
We are pleased to invite talented Hockey Players from your club. This invite is for players who have NOT already registered on the Player Pathway (if you have already registered you should have received an invite via the Player Pathway).
Essex are holding 2 Academy Assessment Days for each age group. The cost is £15, irrespective of how many you attend.
In order to be assessed this year you must register on the following link https://www.playerpathway.englandhockey.co.uk/
Click on “New player to the systems” button.
Allocate yourself to Essex Development Centre & the relevant Academy Assessment Group based on your date of birth.
Register all your information including medical details and parental consent and set up a direct debit payment for £15 (one off).
England Hockey has, in consultation with the Player Pathway Committee, decided to revert to the 1 September age band for County Hockey. Therefore, from 1 September 2021 the following age bands will come into place in County Hockey.
This does mean a few players will have to repeat an ‘age group’
U13 Sep 08 to Aug 09 (Year 8)
U14 Sep 07 to Aug 08 (Year 9)
U15 Sep 06 to Aug 07 (Year 10)
U16/17 Sep 04 to Aug 06 (Year 11 & 12)

Meet time / Registration 7pm

PLEASE BRING DRINKS, SUNSCREEN, SANITISER, SHIN PADS, GUM SHIELDS, HOCKEY STICK, WATERPROOFS
N.B. Players should wear a White Top & White Socks, School kit is acceptable
NO CLUB OR ESSEX KIT IS TO BE WORN, ANY PLAYER ARRIVING IN SUCH KIT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY GOALKEEPERS SHOULD BRING THEIR OWN KIT
Please take a covid test before you attend.
If you are successfully selected to The Essex Hockey Academy you will be expected to attend training & East competitions days & to purchase Essex County Kit (Not Player Pathway kit)
