Redbridge & Ilford [M1s] 3 v 0 Upminster [M2s]

Redbridge won an ill tempered match with Upminster on Saturday which saw the away side condemned to their second defeat in as many weeks.
The match started at a high tempo, with the home side taking an early two goal lead through two penalty corners, seemingly before Upminster had brushed out the cobwebs. The away side steadied the ship, and came back into the game through some bright runs from Jack Payne and Jack Downes.
Upminster then lost defensive stalwart Kev Denman to injury forcing a rejig of formation. The away side started the second half brightly, with Mike Scrivener nearly converting from close range at the far post before Redbridge scored a third.
Some smart stops from Guy Robertson kept the score at 3-0,while Ryan Hodges was unlucky not to score a consolation for the travelling Upminster side.
Upminster pick themselves up, dust themselves off, and host Waltham Forest 2s at Coopers on Saturday, hoping to put some more points on the board.
