UHC COVID-19 Statement

Following the further announcement from the UK Government on Covid-19, Upminster Hockey Club has had to make several decisions that will affect all outstanding events for the remainder of the hockey season.

England Hockey have suspended all hockey activities, our adult leagues have followed suit, so we are afraid there is no further adult league matches until further notice. The leagues will review the situation over the coming weeks and consider the right approach to handling the conclusion of the season and promotions/relegations.

The clubhouse will not open again until further notice, so end of season events at the Club have been cancelled.

The final Junior matches and tournaments have had to be cancelled by the organisers.

No further training will take place for any age group, bringing this to a closure for the season.

At the current time the club continues to prepare for its annual Easter 7’s event, Club Dinner and Dance and Intra-club summer league, though we stress these will be reviewed in the light of further guidance.

We regret these actions but hope our members understand that your committee have made these decisions to protect members and their families from the spread of this virus, in line with the advice given.

Clearly this will have significant financial implications to the pavilion club as we expect the Cricket Club to be disrupted in a similar way.

Once we have been given approval, we hope that you will return to the club and support it in the usual way.

Should anyone have any questions regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Keep safe,
Upminster Hockey Club Committee
