Upminster began their final League game in determined fashion pressing Havering back and threatening their D early, following a forceful run by Riva Siggins her cross shot hit the post, with Upminster having numbers forward Havering were able to counter attack but Lauren Slater- Harvey and the Upminster defence were strong in the tackle forcing Havering’s attacks out wide and away.

With pressure and play mounting in the Havering D Upminster earned several Short Corners and on 10 Mins a Rebbeca Pearson strike from a Short Corner evaded the Havering Defence making it 1-0 to Upminster.

With Megan Miller constantly probing down the right side looking for openings in the D a further Short Corner was gained but Slater–Harvey’s effort was saved by the Havering GK. Controlling the midfield Lucy Falzon found herself with time and space to drive forward with her shot into the D being deflected in by Amy Byrne to make it 2-0.

Havering continued to work the ball out wide looking to get back into the game gaining 3 short corners in quick succession with GK Triggs diving save keeping an effort out.

Quick passing movements enabled Upminster to be able to find space in the middle of the pitch and continually threaten the Havering D , two further short Corners came to nothing but from an Byrne injection on 21 Mins Slater-Harvey’s shot was dispatched inside the near post making it 3-0.

Within a minute of the restart Byrne found herself in space and was able to work her way into the Havering area finding Izzy Uzal who made no mistake 4-0.

2nd Half

As the half began Upminster were caught cold as Havering pressed forward but GK Triggs was alert to the danger, as Upminster settled Miller and Drew Bailey out wide looked to make inroads into the Havering D whilst Jemma Creswell made an opening for herself before being forced away as she entered the D.

With the pace of the game slowing Havering started to see more of the ball with Upminster’s defence and D coming under persistent pressure, but with Uzal and Aimee Banks hassling in midfield and Marston’s silky stickwork getting her past opponents Upminster continued to press Havering back.

A long run from Defence saw Havering into the Upminster D with two efforts on target saved by GK Triggs but the resulting rebound was put away making it 5-1 on 51 Mins.

Continuing to take the game forward Uzal, Banks and Pearson were pressing forward looking to create further openings whilst a Bella Boyle block tackle stopped a Havering advance.

With Upminster going a player down Havering took advantage and were able to press forward themselves, with two Short Corners saved by GK Triggs but as player numbers became evenly matched Upminster began moving the ball out wide Byrne skilful play enabled her to send a pass across the D finding an unmarked Marston who put away the chance on 64 Mins making it 6-1. From the re-start Uzal hassled the Havering Defender into conceding a Short Corner from which Miller’s shot was deflected home by Uzal for her second of the game 7-1 on 65 Mins.

As time ran down Havering’s last play into the Upminster D resulted in a Short Corner from which the shot sneaked under the Defenders feet and inside the post making the final score 7-2 in Upminster’s favour.
