Upminster Men’s 2 ran out comfortable 6-0 winners vs Braintree Men’s 2s on Saturday 5th November. This maintained their unbeaten start to the season and currently sit 2nd in Men’s Div 3SE just 1 point off of the top spot.
The early exchanges were fairly even but Upminster slightly edged the early chances on the Braintree goal. The breakthrough finally came when Phil Hudson got his first of the game with a crisp strike from the top of the ‘D’. This was doubled when Ally Stewart bundled the ball over the line from a PC. The final goal of the first half was a 2nd for Ally Stewart with a fine spin and quick shot away before the GK was set.
Upminster kept up the pressure in the 2nd half and were rewarded when Aaryan Jass got on the scoresheet with a clever finish at the back post. Phil Hudson got his 2nd & 3rd goals of the game with 2 close tap ins to complete his hat-trick and Upminster’s 6th goal of the game.
Upminster travel to Basildon Mens 1s this Saturday 12th November which should be a real test to see whether they are on track for a quick return to Div 2SE.
