Upminster Men’s 2s were looking to bounce back against Plashet Men’s 1s after a disappointing defeat the previous week.
It was a bright start from UHC Men’s 2s who restricted the away team to a few chances and Upminster grew into the game. But then Plashet took the lead slightly against the run of play after a tricky run and terrific backhand finish from the Plashet forward. It wasn’t long until Upminster got themselves level after a great run from Dan Boran and near post deflection from Steve Wright. Upminster then took the lead after a strike at goal from Gus Siggins was touched in by Phil Hudson. The goals continued to to flow when Plashet equalised just before the break to make it 2-2.
Second half Plashet took control of the game and pushed hard to get a winner. A goal for Plashet was ruled out after an aerial into the D was deemed as dangerous play and then a late string of penalty corners for Upminster was well defended and both teams shared the points.
Upminster travel to high flying Brentwood 1s on Saturday to build upon a steady start to the season.
