Upminster 5 (3 – 2) Maldon Academy (31/10/2020)

Upminster 5s overturned a deficit for the third week in a row, and preserved their lead at the Top of Division 9SE with a one goal victory over Maldon Academy at Coopers on Halloween. After going behind to a stunning reverse stick strike, Upminster countered, with captain, Paddy Carroll playing a long ball from defence which was collected by Aaryan Jass who beat several Maldon defenders to equalise. Moments later a well worked short corner routine resulted in midfielder Chris Eggleton striking for his first goal of the season. Shortly after the break Upminster doubled their lead with Ollie White scoring from a deft close range finish.

lthough Upminster continued to dominate, young goalkeeper Mitansh Sha was called into action to make several brave saves late on, and even though Maldon scored a consolation goal, the 5s held out for a deserved win, retaining their place at the top of the table.
