A big warm welcome back to all our Junior members and their parents for the 2021/22 season.
I would firstly like to thank Andrew Berry for all his hard work over the past 8 years in organising the youth section. We are now close to 200 U18 members which proves what a great success the UHC juniors have become, thanks to all the volunteers, managers and coaches who continue to offer their time to support and develop our junior sides.
We are all very much looking forward to a more stable season and are working with England/Essex hockey to develop a full tournament schedule across all ages, to provide competitive matches throughout the season.
I am pleased to confirm training sessions will commence from Sunday 5th September at Coopers School.
In order to keep numbers at training constant across all age groups we have tweaked the training schedule to avoid overloading certain sessions.
Currently we are waiting direction from England hockey regarding any Covid protocols that might need to be in place for training and matches. We will keep you posted as we hear more on this.
Just a general reminder that all juniors must have shin pads and mouthguards at both training and matches.
Membership for 2021/22
To enable your son(s) / daughter(s) to continue with us for this season, we require you to complete 2 steps please:
- To confirm back by email to (jlo@upminsterhc.co.uk) that your son / daughter will be continuing or not and we can mark this as such in our membership database. It is important for you to let us know if they are not continuing as we can remove you from the database and avoid unnecessary communications to you.
- Please arrange for the annual membership fee to be paid. This remains at £90 (but as agreed at the AGM, prior year fully paid juniors can opt for a voluntary £75 rate if they so wish) for the season for all U18s and can be paid direct to the Clubs bank account as detailed by going to the link below.

Please confirm point one back by 3rd September to complete the process for insurance purposes. We also have a current waiting list so, if we do not hear back, we may need to open your place up to someone on this list.
