Upminster Ladies [1s] 2 v 0 Crostyx Ladies [1s] – 06.01.18

Upminster ladies 1st team returned to league action after the Christmas break by welcoming Crostyx 1st team to Coopers.

After a cagey opening, Upminster began to look the more threatening team forcing a couple of Penalty Corners but were unable to convert. At the other end Bella Boyle superbly cleared off of the goal line from a Crostyx PC. The deadlock was finally broken when a sublime piece of skill from Player of the Match Megan Miller, took her past 3 Crostyx defenders and lifted the ball over the oncoming goalkeeper and take a 1-0 lead at the half-time interval.

Upminster continued to stifle any threat from the Crostyx attack with an outstanding display from Defender of the Match Niamh Robeson. Miller was involved again when she picked up the ball outside the ‘D’ carried it to the byline and cut a great ball back for Jemma Cresswell to extend the ‘U’s’ lead to 2-0.

Upminster travel to East London on Saturday looking to carry on their winning start to the year.
