Upminster M1s [3 v 1] Cambridge University M2s – 13/10/18

Goals: Lyndon Ford, Oli Cipa, Jamie O’Dell.

Cambridge had the best of the opening, moving the ball well to create space in between the Upminster lines.

However, failed to convert this into chances until they took the lead in fortuitous circumstances as a coming together of several players including the Upminster keeper led to the ball squiring free in the D for a Cambridge player to come in and place into the empty net.

Upminster were back on level terms just before the end of the first half, a short-corner struck home by O’Dell.

The second half started with Upminster much more on the front foot, forcing some good saves from the Cambridge keeper who then got a little over excited and made one outside of his area leading to a short-corner and a yellow card.

Without a keeper in for the short, O. Cipa took aim and found the back of the net.

Upminster failed to add to the lead in the next 5mins and then found themselves down a few men following a flurry of cards. The defence held firm and the game was sealed with 5mins to go as another short-corner was put away, this time by L. Ford.
