Upminster Mens 2s 4 v 0 Witham Mens 1s – 08/02/20

Upminster Men’s 2s continued their good recent form with a solid 4-0 victory at home to Witham Mens 1 to make it 3 wins on the bounce.

It was a bright start from the visitors who were moving the ball around well but any attack was broken down from an excellent display from the U’s defence. The deadlock was finally broken when DoM Chris Abrey scored from a straight strike at a PC and the lead was extended through a superb team goal finished off by MoM Callam Berry.

2-0 at half-time was tough on Witham who had played well but the clinical finishing from Upminster was the difference between the 2 sides.

Upminster then took control of the 2nd half and Phil Hudson added a 3rd goal with a near post deflection which flew past the opposition goalkeeper. Nick O’Dell completed the goalscoring with a fine strike from the top of the ‘D’.

Upminster now move up in to the top 6 of the league and travel to Old Southendians on Saturday.

MoM – Callam Berry
