Upminster Men’s 5 (1 v 1) Witham Men’s 5 – Witham Sports Centre

Upminster 5 and Brentwood 5 played out a frantic 3-3 draw at Becket Keys School on Saturday. Upminster started the brighter of the two teams, and found themselves two goals ahead as man of the match, James Cargill assisted veteran forward, Paul Scott for two close range goals. An attack minded Brentwood team responded with a close range goal of their own, before Alex Cutmore restored Upminster’s two goal lead, striking home from a Jacob Eade cross. After that, Brentwood applied relentless pressure, with keeper John Daltrey making numerous saves, and captain Patrick Carroll making a goal line clearance from a short corner.

In spite of the best efforts of the Upminster defence, Brentwood overturned the deficit with two fine second half goals.

Upminster 5s will look to continue their unbeaten start to the season with Chelmsford 7 the visitors to Coopers on Saturday
